EUROVOD conference in cooperation with the Venice Production Bridge

On September 4, the European VOD Meetings hosted a relevant conference which tackled a wide range of topics such as the status of VOD market, the audiovisual piracy and VOD for heritage films at the Venice Production Bridge.


With the moderation of Michael Gubbins, the entire morning was divided into 3 main panel discussion.

First, EUROVOD president Jean-Yves Bloch and Christian Grece, analyst at the European Audiovisual Observatory,introduced an overview of the European VOD market, showing the latest trends, facts and figures of a growing sector of the audiovisual industry.

The morning's conference continued with a round table about Audiovisual Piracy with the participation of Christian Grece, Thierry Chevillard (Blue Efficience) and Chris Le Maitre (AAPA, Audiovisual Anti-Piracy Alliance and EMEA).

At the conclusion of the conference at Spazio Incontri of the Venice Production Bridge, Wendy Bernfeld (CEO of Rights Stuff), Nicola Mazzanti (director of Cinémathèque Royale de Belgique), filmmaker and producer Cristian Mungiu, Reiner Rother (artistic director of Deutsche Kinemathek), Darius Vaitiekunas (director of AVAKA, Kinofondas) and Jean-Baptiste Viaud (CEO of La Cinemathèque des Réalisateurs) participated to the panel discussion about VOD for Heritage Films.


The 2nd part of the European VOD Meetings will take place in Berlin, from 6 to 9 February 2019. Applications are officially open until December 10, 2018. For more info and to register, see the VOD Meetings section.
