EuroVoD is in San Sebastian, with the participation of William Page, secretary of EuroVoD and CEO of Filmdoo, in 2 panel discussions of the Industry Agenda of the Festival.
On Sunday 23, Page took part to the workshop about the Implementation of the new Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) and more specifically on the prominence of European works in VoD platforms – EFADs (European Film Agency Directors). This workshop is following the initiative of the European Commission which organised a public consultation to seek the views of all interested parties on how to make Europe's audiovisual media landscape fit for purpose in the digital age (see all the information about the AVMSD review's journey here).
On Monday 24 September, the new distribution workshop Back to the future! How to give films older than 3 years a better life and market organised by Europa Distribution is kicking off and among the panelists, William Page is participating to the round-table regarding the exploitation of film catalogues, continuing a discussion already started at the European VOD Meetings in Venice.
What type of solutions can VOD platforms give to to keep films older than 3 years alive, in the tricky market of film catalogues? How can we reach the audience? How to preserve the film heritage?
These some of the questions that EuroVoD is also tackling at its VOD Meetings and among its members.
