EU AV OBSERVATORY'S ADVISORY COMMITTEE'S NEW CHAIR(WO)MAN

Congratulations to Pauline Durand-Vialle! She was elected as new Chair to head up the Observatory's Advisory Committee, that EuroVoD is a member of. Pauline Durand-Vialle is the CEO of the Federation of European Film Directors (FERA) since February 2014.


15 DECEMBER / UNIVERSITY OF COPENHAGEN

The University of Copenhagen hosted on the 15th Dec. the webinar "The role of the new Audiovisual Media Service Directive (AVMSD) in increasing commitments of commercial streaming platforms towards European content: Challenges and Opportunities", organized by the Center for Modern European Studies (CEMES) and the research project Creativity and adaptability as conditions for the success of Europe in an Interrelated word (KREAS) with support from the Association of European Film Agency Directors (EFAD). The webinar provided the most updated overview of national policy frameworks on the obligations for streaming platforms towards European works, with a presentation of the results of a research conducted by the EFAD and the KREAS from the Charles University Prague, who investigated how Article 13 has been transposed and implemented in various EU countries, followed by a discussion of relevant European stakeholders around the major benefits and challenges in the implementation of Article 13. Speakers: Julie Jeanne-Régnault (EFAD), Marc Putman (EUROVOD), Bruno Zambardino (DG Cinema and Audiovisual MiBACT), Lars Løge, (Norwegian Film Institute), Tim Raats (Free University of Brussels) , Alexandra Lebret (European Producers Club), Anthony Muldoon (Screen Producers Ireland), Moderator: Petar Mitric.

Great online session organised by the Institute of Documentary Film called Christmas VoD Selection, centered on business models & rev. share, content curation and territoriality, audience, promotion and outreach! Speakers included Agustina Lumi (EuroVoD, Tech PM), Diana Tabakov (Executive Director, Dafilms.com), Sylvain Baldus (Acquisition Manager, Tënk, EuroVoD membe), Sasa Stanisic (General Manager, Cinesquare, EuroVoD member), moderated by film critic, Marta Balaga.
