Research for CULT Committee – Film Financing and the Digital Single Market

The Committee on Culture and Education from the European Parliament published a study on Film Financing and the Digital Single Market regarding the role of territoriality and new models of financing.


The implementation of the Digital Single Market in Europe has an important impact on different aspects of the film industry. Currently, territoriality is a key model in film financing and the EU policies could mitigate the scope of the territorial exclusivity in the audiovisual sector.



In a second part, the report studies the digital developments and evolution of consumer behaviour to explore alternative film financing opportunities.
