Venice, 5-6 September 2021
Co-organised by EuroVoD and the Venice Production Bridge / Venice Film Festival, the 3rd VoD Market Day will take place in Venice, Excelsior Hotel, on September 5th & 6th, 2021. For the first time, the event will happen over 2 days: SVOD / VOD market including conferences (5 Sept) and in-person one-to-one meetings (6 Sept), during which European and International VOD platforms and stakeholders will be able to propose their services to international distributors, rights holders and AV professionals.
While the conferences will be freely accessible on the spot and online, the participation to the one-to-one meetings is by invitation only and will take place in a reserved area of the Excelsior Hotel, with private stands.
The booking of the meetings will be managed on the VPB website dedicated area.
The full programme of the conference and the list of participants for the one-to-one meetings will be announced closer to the date.

One day of public conferences, B2B meetings and networking, gathering VoD platforms, film professionals and tech companies working with online distribution, but also open to journalists, public institutions and other professionals interested in knowing more the VoD sector and get in touch with the companies attending the European VoD Meetings. EuroVoD is the association of European VoD platforms, grouping nowadays around 30 members from 18 European countries. With an average of 78% of of European content in the aggregated catalogue, the association presents in this session its first report, underlining the shape and challenges of European VoD platforms and the impact of Covid on business models. The session will also be the occasion of presenting the new online professional platform, an online market and networking place dedicated to the Vido On Demand sector.

The VOD ecosystem is still rapidly evolving worldwide with fresh challenges and opportunities emerging. The session will be a chance to ask questions and share experiences.

11:45 - 13:00: DEMAND CREATION: HOW TO ENGAGE A CHANGING AUDIENCE
The European film industry is coming to terms with a rapidly evolving environment with new technologies, changing patterns of audience behaviour disrupting established business. The Covid crisis has accentuated and accelerated changing patterns of audience demand for European film. Months of lockdown has increased interest in on-demand viewing and we need to learn lessons about how European talent and business can build on those changes. Lockdown proved the value of cooperation between on demand services and cinemas and festivals. That combination of online and physical opens up tremendous potential for European film and for cultural diversity. This session will focus on how to build collaboration and cooperation in a new digital framework on the interests of film, audience and business. It will look at emerging models and best practice and how they can be best implemented.
